You are bidding on a Walker-Turner wood lathe. This lathe was manufactured in or around 1940. It is in great shape, although the right leg is missing and my late father replaced it with a construction of 2x4s. He also added a shelf as was found on the original. I don’t know if the shelf was standard equipment or an option. If someone knows, please tell me. This lathe is equipped Dual Pulleys and a Reeves variable drive system. Speeds available are 290 to 2000 continuously variable rpm on the small pulley and 465 to 3750 continuously variable rpm on the larger pulley The motor runs on 110/120 vac 60 Hz. The lathe bed has a gap near the spindle for large pieces and the bed is 42 inches long. Distance between centers will depend on your spindle and tailstock tooling. The tail-stock takes up about 8 inches of the lathe bed. Accessories are as follows: Adjustable tool rest, dead center, 1/2 ” (13mm) Drill chuck with #2 Morse taper adapter, face plate, #2 Morse taper spindle tooling, Knurled threaded ring/washer for spindle nose, Tail Stock and a pair of drive belts. Also included is a set of Import calipers and a set of 12 Craftsman wood turning tools and two additional tools of unknown origin. My Dad built a 4 drawer cabinet from his recycled kitchen drawers that fits under the lathe. You may have that also. There are NO wheels on the drawer set. Currently the lathe is living in the back of my Van because my workshop is just too full of my tools and his too. You must come to Airville Pa 17302 to pick up this lathe (bring 2 or 3 strong friends), unless you want me to deliver it. Delivery is available!!!!! If you live within nine (9) hours of 17302 I will deliver. Delivery charges are $0.50 (50 cents) per mile as measured by MapQuest from my house to yours payable up front for both directions. For instance, if you lived in Brooklyn Michigan you are 8 hours 30 minutes from me and 530 miles. You qualify because you are under 9 hours. Your delivery charge would be 530 x 2 x $0.50 or $530.00 added to your winning bid. You might consider borrowing a friend’s pickup truck and getting it yourself.
