This is a rare Westinghouse "Rock-Top" power transistor, part number 125XB44. I have been unable to locate details on this transistor but when it was attached to a transistor tester it tests as a good NPN transistor. The tag attached has 24A (Amps?) and Vbe 1.28. I would guess that the number 6831 on the transistor may indicate it is from 1968 when these transistors were in production. The transistor is still in its original plastic shipping tube (see picture, the tube is warped). On the shipping tube is "Westinghouse Semiconductors, Youngwood Penna". The full marking on the transistor is "125XB44 6831 KT 5A". The tan discoloration the white ceramic is most likely rosin from the factory attaching the wire terminals to the top of the package. It is not from removal (this is a new unit that has never been used). Google "Rock-top transistor" for more info at semiconductormuseum.com.
