REDUCED TO SELL!! This is a brand new IDEAL Networks Visual Fault Finder Model VFF5 with soft case and batteries. This fiber optic cable continuity tester and fault finder does not come with a box or any paperwork but it's new, unused except for testing. It works great. The IDEAL VFF5 is a handheld, battery-powered tool that projects a highly visible red light into fiber optic cable. The operator simply looks at the length of cable and where light is seen, there is a break or faulty connection. The VFF5 is equipped with a high-power, extra-long life, 650nm laser diode which operates either in Continuous (CW) or Modulated (MOD; 1Hz Pulse) mode. A pushbutton allows the user to select the mode while preventing accidental operation. Amy breaks will be seen as a conspicuously glowing or blinking red light area ( in 3mm or smaller cables. A red LED on the outer case echoes the operation mode selected. The VFF5 is useful over a distance of approximately 3km (2.3 miles) into multimodal fiber and 4km (2.5 miles) into single mode fiber and can be used and can be used with single-mode and multimode cable. Use it as a stand-alone first-line basic troubleshooting tool, or in conjunction with an OTDR to pinpoint faults. These sell online for around $300 and up!
