Because of the bulkiness of this item and the difficulty to pack and ship it properly, this auction is for local pickup in northwest Arkansas ONLY.  I've had this VS1 carpet shampooer since the mid-80s and I am the only owner.  I never got off the ground running my own business, so the bulk of its use was cleaning carpets for friends and relatives.  Overall, I doubt if it saw 10% of its useful life.  The solenoid valve (v5l75290 skinner valve) has ceased working, so it can't produce foam.  The Von Schrader company quit using this method, so you'll either have to retrofit their new method yourself or send it to the factory for an update.  Other than that, everything is still in fine working shape.  The only other thing I've noticed is the tube from the tank has yellowed over the years and probably ought to be replaced.  The brush has been properly stored on its end all these years to prevent flat spots.  If you look at the pictures you'll see that nearly all of the original kit is included--the black zipper work bag, funnel, broom with collapsing handle, foam tray and the original operating manual and parts list.  I've even added the orange mister canister.  No cleaning chemicals included.  This would be a great backup machine for anyone using a VS1--it could keep you working if you have a mechanical breakdown or you could cannibalize it for parts.  Payment by PayPal only and due before pickup, or you could log in to your account and make payment before leaving premises after seeing the machine.  I'll make reasonable accommodations for you to pick up.
