Here is a really cool "audible signal appliance" (known to most of us as an alarm or siren) that once served in a factory where it warned employees to get out in the event of a fire. The fixture consists of two parts: a main siren unit with wire leads, and a "audible signal appliance accessory" which you might refer to as a horn or megaphone -- it directs the sound. Both pieces attach to a wall-mounted junction box -- you'll need four screws at least 2" long to attach the siren and the megaphone. The siren attaches separately if you don't want to include the megaphone. The siren measures 4" x 4" square and is 2.5" deep including the back of the device that extends into the junction box (the siren alone extends 1.25" from the wall). The megaphone is 6.125" long and 4" x 4" on its front and back end. Together, the siren and megaphone extend about 7.5" from a wall. The construction is largely cast aluminum. Judging by the tag on the siren, it appears to have been manufactured in 1990 (tag reads: DATE 0390). Free shipping is to the contiguous 48 states.
