Vintage Letterpress Type tray or drawer. California Job Case layout. No handle on thisw drawer. Some stripped out screw holes where one used to be. There is a Hamilton MFG Maker's Mark stamped on the top of the left center frame board. The Maker's Mark has been nearly worn off. There is also "New Departure Patented" stamped on the same board. This drawer measures approximately 32 1/4" x 19 3/8". The legs add about 2 7/8" so the drawer proper is about 16 1/2". Interior depth of the drawer is about 1 1/16" while the outside depth is 1 3/8" on the sides and back while the face is about 1 1/2" tall. Note that the dividers are about 3/4" tall. The bottom is Plywood. There is one split on the inside surface that runs the width of the drawer (see photo of the split in the left section and the main photo) The outside surface has some minor splitting and separation. Repairable with some wood glue. The drawer is solid structurally. The legs do not add anything to the structural strength of the drawer so you can cut them off if that would help with your plans for the drawer. The dividers are intact. The dividers in the left section have a case of the crooked's. Not sure how it might have occurred. The frame board is true (both sides). See the detail photo of the left section for details. The center and right sections don't seem to have the problem. We cleaned the outside of the frame with a moist cloth. Note the rough edges on the face board (see photo of handle screw holes for detail). Study the photos carefully The drawer you see is the drawer you get! Lots of possibilities. Questions? Please ask.
