Cowan Aurora Illinois" This listing is for a vintage spelter card holder. This is a great vintage piece that is made of what I believe to be Spelter due to the age crackling. The card holder features a figure of a little boy with his hands in his pockets looking down with a forlorn look on his face. The front of the ashtray is marked "James M. Cowan, Aurora Illinois". Based on our research Mr. Cowan donated a large art collection to a museum in Tennessee and this ashtray was a souvenir collectible when the Cowan collection was shown in Illinois. This is a great piece with a classic, retro look. This piece would make a great addition to any art collection, souvenir collection Condition: This piece is vintage and used with some wear. The piece has some wear from age and use, and it has the normal Spelter crackling from age especially near the head area.. There is some scratching, discoloration and paint splashes on the piece in a few spots. The metal is tarnished from age and handling. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any question before bidding.
