This kit includes the hardware needed to build a set of test probes for most Heathkit (and many other) Vacuum Tube Volt Meters that use a 1/4" phone style meter connection. You supply the wire. (The original instructions specify shielded cable for the leads, the original supplied wire was a coaxial microphone style wire, many people use either standard (unsheilded) test probe wire for the leads, I typically use RG174 for the 2 leads and a standard silicone test probe wire for the ground) (see my other auctions for kits complete with wire) Included in this version of the kit: 1 Pair of Velleman TLM6 Test Lead Probes - 1 Red/1 Black 1 1/4" Mono Phone Plug 1 1Meg Ohm 1 Watt Resistor 1 Alligator Clip I don't know why these probes are so hard to find but they are perfect to build or repair your own test leads or probe sets. These are excellent for building replacement test probes for Heathkit (and other) VTVM's, The 1M Ohm resistors I have (included) slide right down the barrel without modifying the probe tips in any way. Typical application involves using one probe for DC Measurement (with the resistor installed) and the other probe for AC/Ohms Measurement. This dual probe setup, serves as a substitute for the mostly missing or incomplete original test probe which used a switch at the tip of the probe to switch the Resistor in/out of the circuit. I also sell a deluxe version of this kit with and without test lead wire, and will offer completed probe sets soon, please check my other auctions.
