Wasp WMR1250 POS Magstripe Reader Item Description The Wasp WMR1250 POS magstripe reader is black, has a USB cable to connect to the host system, and can be used to swipe and read the magnetic stripe on the back of a credit or debit card or another magnetic stripe card. Dual-track magnetic card readers can read and capture data from two of the three tracks typically present in a magnetic stripe, both of which contain the necessary information to complete a transaction. The USB cable can be plugged into the USB port of a computer or host system (sold separately) to transmit card data and power the magnetic card reader. An LED indicator turns green to indicate a successful swipe and red to indicate a decoding error. The reader's magnetic head can read low-coercivity and high-coercivity magnetic stripes and has an expected lifespan of up to 500,000 card swipes. This product is compatible with computers that run Microsoft Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit), Windows XP (SP2), Windows Server 2008 (32-bit), or Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) and have an available USB port and a CD-ROM drive for software installation.
