The smooth design is meant to work with any pot or skillet, and the whole unit resists thermal shock for long-lasting durability. For easy cooking and even heat distribution, a long-lasting heating element is mounted in the center of the unit. The controls are mounted on a recessed remote unit to avoid accidental temperature changes, and thanks to its basic design, it's easy to wipe clean. The Wells HC-2256 drop-in 14 3/4" electric countertop ceramic two burner hot plate is UL and NSF Listed. CE Listed at 230V.
