This is a used Weston Model 301 ammeter, 1-8 volts DC, with a red reference mark at 4.5 volts.  The panel cutout is 2-11/16" or close enough to 2.75".  The meter face is 3" tall by 3.125" wide face, and is bakelite.  There are no dents or cracks.  The meter moves fine.  The zero adjust works. Manufactured in July 1954. This would be good for checking heater voltage in 6.3v amps. The meter is made of bakelite, and weighs 7 ounces.  I don't have a current source (one that is regulated), so I used my LCR meter to make rudimentary readings: inductance is .32mH including the 6" long test leads (the meter doesn't have a provision for zeroing out the leads); resistance is 494 ohms total (meter face says 62 ohms per volt; 8 times 62 is 496, so we are off by 2 ohms, which is darn good after 50 years).  I don't know if those are good measurements.  However, the meter is guaranteed, so bid with confidence.
