They are used but should still be of some use in the shot peening process. Product Details This Almen A strip is a thin strip of SAE 1070 steel used to quantify the intensity of a shot peening process. It is predominantly used for shot peening with cast shot or cut wire shot. The strip is made from plain carbon steel SAE 1070 and has a hardness of about 45 HRC. Specifications Length: 3.00" ± 0.015" Width: .7475" ± 0.0025" Thickness: 0.051" ± 0.001" Flatness: ±0.0015" Hardness: HRC 44-50 Grade: A-2 Other Information
