For more information email or call 479-651-1352. Acceleration output, side-exit Wilcoxon Research® 4-20 mA sensors output a signal proportional to the overall vibration level. This type of output is commonly accepted by process control systems such as a PLC, DCS or SCADA system. By connecting into the existing process control system, the user is able to monitor machinery health without the investment and learning curve commonly associated with traditional vibration monitoring systems that may require custom software and data collection routes or expensive online systems. 4-20 mA output sensors contain an accelerometer and miniaturized vibration transmitter all within the sensor housing. Wilcoxon Research® 4-20 mA sensors are designed for the harsh industrial environment, with many of the features of standard industrial accelerometers, including 316L stainless steel housings, hermetic sealing, and MIL-C-5015-style or M12 connectors. 4-20 mA sensor powering differs from the constant current power required for dynamic accelerometers. Since the sensor fully operates by using the power from the standard 4-20 mA loop, no additional power is necessary. 4-20 mA loop powered sensors will produce a current output from 4 to 20 mA, which is proportional to the amount of vibration present across the specified frequency range of the sensor.
