Up for auction is a Wohlhaupter 5S6 Boring head in beautiful working condition. We purchased this boring head years ago for a Horizontal Boring mill we had. It was not used much at that time and we sold the machine 15 years ago. My CNC guys don't use it, so it's time to pass it along. The boring head comes with a CAT 50 shank and also has another shank that came with it when we bought it. That shank resembles an R8 taper but has no provision for a drawbar and has a tang at the end and a thru slot. There is a factory manual with the head and one boring bar/right angle extension. If you are familiar with these heads you know how expensive and useful they are. If you are not, they are the most versatile, accurate and well-made tools of their kind. Adjustment is graduated in .0005" on diameter, with one turn on the fine adjustment dial equal to .016" on diameter. The facing function has 12 individual settings, from .0008" per revolution to .0096" per revolution. The automatic cutout accuracy is listed as .002" on diameter, but I have seen these heads hold .001" diameter internal grooves. Capacity is listed as 0-620mm, and the slide has 112mm of travel. Total weight of Head + Shank is 24 lbs. Total shipping weight will be about 29 lbs. Thanks for looking!
