It's sturdy, made of real wood and heavy duty! I like that it has the options to choose different slot sizes or to not use all of them to make bigger spaces if you don't need all of them. It’s perfect for holding all kinds of shoes and is quite sturdy if you put two boards to hold the weight of the slot. I do want to mention that I wasn’t fully satisfied and rather annoyed during buildup, what was quite disappointing was the lack of explanation on the instructions because they tended to be confusing with just a simple diagram that didn’t go in depth. The exterior of the organizer also did not feel sturdy and I was very nervous that it would fall apart if it were not for the nails that held the back board in place. The shelfs are not made for larger or heavier items so if wanting to put binders or paper reams this might not be the best especially at the top. It did not like that. I am using it for an art area for my son. I added fabrics and other items as well as some drawing books. It fit well against the wall.
