This pallet notcher came to me on a trade.  I know nothing about it other than it shows no sign of ever having been used.  I found a plate with J 90132.  I am unable to find the manufacturer although this is obviously a factory built machine.....it is not a homemade unit.   It has been in storage in a metal building for quite a while.  I don't make pallets and, upon receiving it in trade, put it away.  It is covered in dust with a bit of pigeon poo here and there.  It has a small points of surface rust and a few scratches in the paint.  Cosmetics are overall very good.   Specifics:  I am unable to find a model number.  However, this is a double head notcher.  The heads use indexible teeth which are readily available.  The teeth are MISSING.  Since it is new, perhaps the manufacturer sent it without teeth installed to avoid some liability.  But...who knows?  Perhaps the previous owner robbed the teeth for another machine.   There is a motor for each head.  They are each by US Motors, 25HP, 1445RPM, 240/480v 3ph.  Each has four belts on the sheave to run its individual head.   The switch for starting the main motors has the little internal relay missing.  It does not appear to be a big deal but I want to make sure you are aware.... Now....I am not a pallet manufacturer.  So the following is my assumption of how the machine operates:  The upper chain rack is where the operator stacks his raw material.  Two little 1/25HP motors advance the chain deck allowing the 2x4 (or whatever size) to drop.  There I believe a ram goes forward and pushes the raw material into the heads.  The machine obviously is designed to do hundreds and hundreds of notched stringers per day.  There are three heavy bars that hold the boards in place as they go through the double notching heads.  These bars can be lifted or lowered for different size material.  The notched part feeds out the same side as they were fed in...just at a lower level.  The machine is 6' long by 6' wide.  It has the capacity to notch multiple widths, multiple thicknesses and multiple lengths.  It is currently set at 51" length X 3.5" width but can go longer or shorter, wider or less wide, thicker or more thin.     The wood chips resulting from the notching heads falls into a plenum which exits through a 10" pipe to be connected to your dust collection system.  Your employee will be able to work safely without a floor full of chips to slip on.   This appears to be a very nice, well built American machine.  While I don't need to try and get rich on this machine, I would like to get a reasonable amount for it.  The motors are worth about a grand each.  I suspect the machine new would go for twenty grand.  My price is a steal. Paypal within 48 hours of the sale or...a certified check.  I can accept credit cards for an additional 2% of the total.   If you are not satisfied you may return the machine within Ebays standard 14 days, buyer pays shipping.  You will get a full refund.   I have another machine listed... a five head resaw.  Please take a look.  Why the sale items?  Time to clean up our plant.  No other reason.   We have been in business for 50 years.  We do not take advantage of people.  What I know about anything I sell, you will know before you buy it.
I do not know the brand. This notcher came to me on a trade. It has obviously never been used but it is dusty from being stored inside a metal building. Excellent condition.
