Woodworking Metalworking RC Aircraft Clamp Vise Carr Lane CL-550-HTC Workbench NEW    One (1) NEW Carr Lane Toggle Clamp in Original Package Model CL-550-HTC, Open Arm, Flanged Base Toggle Clamp      MATERIALS: Clamp body: 1008, 1010, and/or 1018 STEEL, zinc plated clear chromate Rivets: 400-series stainless Handle: Vinyl    FEATURES: Heavy-duty horizontal-handle clamp. Open arm provides adjustable spindle location. Arm opens 90° while handle moves 55°. Made in U.S.A    Toggle clamps are tools used to steady and hold your work piece firmly in place. These clamps are essential parts of a hobbyists or a professionals workshop in which pieces must be assembled, attached or combined, and kept for a certain length of time in a stationary position.   They are a type of Bench Holdfast.   The clamp is basically a lever with a pivot; when you move the lever past a center point, the clamp linkage “toggles” and the clamp spindle holds the work piece at the other end. The lever-release mechanism can be set quickly, and released instantly for repetitive production type work.    Adjustment for different thickness work is also very quick.   Carr Lane Toggle Clamps are industrial quality.  This Carr Lane TC-550-HTC toggle clamp has a holding capacity of 750 lbs.  It comes with a rubber cushioned spindle to prevent marring of the work piece, 2 adjustment nuts, and 2 flanged washers.  It has a flanged base with four (4) mounting holes.   All that is necessary to mount this clamp is four 5/16 or M8 bolts and nuts.   Total Height Under Bar is 1.75 inches (clamping thickness is less)   Aircraft manufacturers use these clamps by the thousands to make aircraft parts.  Every hobbyists needs and has many uses for this type of clamp.    Use on your:   Workbench Drill Press Router Table Saw Horse Table Assembly Jig   Use for:   Gluing Drilling Routing Cutting Sawing
