If you are going to work with X10 this is the tester to get. It originally cost over $300 dollars at Smarthome. I was able to find the problems with my X10 installation using this instrument. Nothing else I tried gave me the information needed. The following specs are from the Smarthome web page Protect Your X10 Investment Identifies all X10 number & function codes Displays signal strength (8mV to 4V+) of all incoming codes Analyzes AC powerline noise Dissects each X10 code to examine all bits of code The X10 Powerline Signal Analyzer is a serious troubleshooting tool. Because of its utility, it is essential for anyone with extensive X10 installations. Being able to dissect X10 signals down to the bit level provides the ability to examine the before/after effect of X10 repeater/amplifiers. The X10 Powerline Signal Analyzer comprehensive manual that explains X10 signal theory and how to analyze it, is available for download online. The X10 Powerline Signal Analyzer records in memory up to 190 X10 codes for later review. Examine pre-set dim, extended code & extended data commands with this module.
