I'm downsizing so am selling this saw. I bought it 3 years ago and immediately did a full mechanical (not cosmetic) restoration. I had Woodworkers' Tool Works install and crown new tires. Northfield Machinery builders installed new bearings and rebuilt the blade guides. I also installed a new counter balance for the upper guide, and a new hand wheel for tensioning the blade. It has a newer US made 1.5 hp single phase motor, new matched cast iron pulleys and new belts. The motor also has new wiring and a new switch. The saw runs like a champ and cuts extremely well! This saw is every bit as good as the Delta Milwaukee/ Rockwell and Powermatic 20" saws AND the Yates has a smaller footprint. The cosmetic aspects that I didn't address (since I only restored it cosmetically) are: 1) a small chip out of the edge of the cast iron table. No additional damage and table is still flat. 2) the lower rear table trunion had a small section of the dovetail missing (undoubtedly someone tried to move the saw by the table at some point). I had a machinist friend install a couple pins to ensure proper bearing surface for the table trunnion. The table is stable and tilts flawlessly and securely. 3) there are two dents in the oval sheet metal base. 4) the lower front door needs to be tack welded back onto the two hinges. One interesting thing to note is that this saw is a rare early variation with balanced cast iron disc wheels. You really get that flywheel effect missing on the aluminum wheel'd variants! Other specs to note are 19.5" from blade to frame and around 13" under the upper guide for resawing. This saw is truly plug and play! Local pickup only please as this thing is big and heavy and expensive to ship! My asking price is what I have into the saw. Not looking to make money, just looking to get out what I've put into the saw to get it back into top running condition! Thanks for looking!
