This is a very popular Nomarski Interference Contrast, Bright Field and Phase Contrast Turret Condenser from Carl Zeiss along with the number II beam combiner for use on the Universal, Photomicroscope, Ultraphot and other tube head Zeiss microscope stands. Both items come in the Zeiss wooden case with a position milled out to accept the beam combiner. Their are two other holes for Zeiss objective containers and one hole for a Zeiss phase contrast alignment telescope. The condenser is similar to the VZ phase contrast condenser but with also four (4) positions with Wollaston Prisms for Interference Contrast after Nomarski. The four prisms correspond for use with Zeiss Planachromats 6.3x, 16x, 40x and 100x objective lenses (not included). This INKO turret condenser comes with the 1.4na achromatic aplanatic top lens and also number 2 and 3 phase contrast annulus along with aperture diaphragms for each Nomarski prism position. Bright Field is achieved by recommended position number I on the INKO prisms and removing the analyzer and polarizer (required for INKO) out of the illumination beam. The condenser and beam combiner #2 have been professionally cleaned, lubricated as necessary, aligned and checked for optimal performance. They are both in perfect working condition with no optical blemishes or decementing. A brief copy of the Zeiss operating instructions (not shown) will be provided for those not familiar with how to use the system. The Nomarski Interference Contrast or INKO system provides outstanding relief images and color contrast of many specimens that simply cannot be achieved by any other method. It is a very popular system for transmitted specimens. This is a scarce, perfect condition, professionally checked Nomarski set and highly recommended!
