In my research, I found this is a product which Pittsburgh/Corning PC Glass offered in the 1950's. This product, when applied to roofs, floors, walls, ceilings and perimeters as well as pipes, tanks, and other equipment would insulate the contained area for heat/cool temperature regulation. I see this product is available on eBay in the form of pipe insulation even today. This sample box measures approx.. 6" long by 4" deep by 2" high. I will warn you in advance, small fragments of glass are seeping out of this box. This piece was in a box I purchased which also contains Corning Glass, Pyrex, and VyCor 'Experimental' pieces of glass as well as lenses. If you are a "One of a kind" type of collector, these pieces are for you! I will be bringing these other pieces to eBay as well, check out my other items!
