Description: It's a very efficient step-down power voltage regulator (converter) module. Input voltage - 6.5-23V, output - 5V, current - 2.2A In most cases it can replace widely used in microcontrollers, arduino projects, etc. LM7805 or similar regulators. It has fully compatible with LM7805 footprint (TO-220) and smallest size. The reasons to replace are: much more efficiency, much less heating, more current (2..3A), wide input voltage range. F.e. you can use your existing arduino (or other 5V microcontroller) project in car (12V) application almost with no changes - this item connector holes step is to-220 compatible. If you'll try to use LM7805 to convert 12V to 5V you'll loose almost half of energy on heating this LM7805. And it will be really very hot even with radiator. You can use this item to build a high quality high current USB car charger - with it's small size you can place it almost anywhere in car and connect it to outer USB port connectors (not included). The rated current of this item is enough to charge almost any device in your car. You can see on photo one of the similar (square, almost twice bigger) item - please keep in mind that so thin inductor CAN NOT be used for large currents. Inductor wich was used in item offers if rated for at least 3.5A. You can visually compare this sizes on photos (two last photos after scheme). If you need a thinner item - you can just replace inductor by yourself or write me when ordering. This item has not soldered connectors because it can be used in different cases - with straight or right angled connectors.
