This chucking reamer has six flutes for sizes ranging from 0.1562 to 0.5220 inches in diameter and four to twelve flutes for other sizes in the 127-1 series. It is capable of correcting imperfect holes and creating precisely round holes of exacting dimensions. Overall, the Alvord Polk 127-1 High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamer offers excellent value for general purpose applications, making it a good choice for a range of industries. The Alvord Polk 127-1 High-Speed Steel Chucking Reamer is a round shank tool with a right-hand spiral flute and uncoated finish, ideal for reaming holes with interruptions. This tool is made of high-speed steel, which is widely used and compatible with a variety of materials. Right-hand spiral reamers are perfect for blind holes as they pull chips up and out of the hole, preventing clogging and tool damage. Spiral flute reamers are recommended for reaming holes with interruptions, avoiding damage to the workpiece edge and tool. To prevent the reamer from slipping in high torque applications, a good-quality toolholder should be used.
