This device is used to count the revolutions of a hit and miss or similar steam engine, and was used by the engineer and keeper at many US Lightstations in the Fog Signal building to adjust the equipment. It still works, and was made Pat Sept 1885.By The Tabor Mfg Co New York.Shows some wear but in good working shape To work it you just press the triangle end againist the fly wheel and it counts the RPM's
