Avalance Photodetector, Model: APD120AS, 200 to 1000nm range. Three (3) of these photodetectors were purchased for an R&D project. One of the units was used for testing of an optical circuit. It was used for one day then put away. The other two were never used. At this point, we do not know which one was used. We are selling these as individual units. Auction is for one (1) unit. Units were working when put in storage. We have no way to offer testing results to you but promise they are just as new when they arrived from Thorlabs. These avalanche photodetectors are designed to detect light in the 200 - 1000 nm (APD120A2) range. Their low NEP and high transimpedance gain, as seen in the table to the right, makes them ideal for fast low-light level detection applications, such as spectroscopy, fluorescence measurements, lidar (laser radar), and optical range finders. The detector is provided in a compact housing [2.0" x 2.50" x 1.08" (50.8 mm x 63.5 mm x 27.4 mm)]. The output and power wire leads for these detectors attach perpendicular to the light path. An 8-32 (M4) tapped hole, provided on three sides of the detector, allows post mounting with the leads pointing left, right, or upward. Internal SM05 (0.535”-40) and external SM1 (1.035”-40) threads are concentric with the avalanche photodiode, which allows the user to mount lens tubes, internally threaded SM1 fiber adapters, or other SM1- and SM05-compatible components directly to the detector housing.
