VINTAGE BEE KEEPERS BOX HIVE OBSERVATION EDUCATIONAL LEARNING EWING NURSERY CAMBRIDGE, OH BEE KEEPERS BOX HIVE OBSERVATION TOP BAR EDUCATIONAL LEARNING EWING NURSERY & FRUIT FARM CAMBRIDGE, OHIO MADE IN 1962 ______________________________________________________ eRiverCity ... eBay Internet Sales & Auctions Ohio Valley's finest in antiques, glassware and collectibles! ______________________________________________________ eRiverCity is pleased to offer, for your consideration, this very collectible BEE KEEPERS BOX HIVE OBSERVATION TOP BAR EDUCATIONAL LEARNING EWING NURSERY & FRUIT FARM CAMBRIDGE, OHIO MADE IN 1962 (DOAK EWING) A wonderful, vintage, Bee Keepers Wood Bee Box Observation Hive, circa 1962. Measures 22-1/4" high, 22-3/4" wide by 4-1/2" deep. Both sides have glass showing the three sections for learning and educational viewings. There are detachable wood doors, both sides, that you can put over the glass for transporting/protecting the hives. Both sides have a metal plaque that reads: Ewing Nursery & Fruit Farm, Cambridge, Ohio. A tag on the side reads: Made by Doak Ewing 1962. The wood used to make this unique piece is just beautiful! It appears to be different woods and stained cherry. See photos. All the latches work just fine - both sides and top. After researching we found that there were cases/displays like these made for educational viewing in schools, libraries, nurseries, etc ... CONDITION: Excellent condition! New - old stock. It does not appear this unit was ever used. Also, the glass in a thin cut, so this may have been a prototype. A 'Must Have' for any serious Bee Keeper collectors or if you want to educate others.
