These are high quality industrial grade carbon electrodes10mm in diameter, 70mm long or cut to whatever length you desire. When you select to purchase one (or more) carbon rods, you are paying for individual rods. These are high quality industrial and lab grade heat treated carbon-graphite electrodes. The density of these rods has been estimated to be 1.8g/cm3 These carbon rods are suitable for a variety of electrochemistry reactions and experiments, and through personal testing this type of carbon rod has successfully been used in the following reactions. converting copper sulfate and water into sulfuric acid and copper sponge acting as a corrosion resistant cathode while oxidizing iron (metal) into red iron (|||) oxide for thermite generating chlorine gas from calcium chloride solution acting as a corrosion resistant cathode in oxidizing copper into copper oxide splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen (black HHO cell) carbon arc light converting zinc sulfate into zinc metal and sulfuric acid acting as a heat resistant electrode in converting molten sodium chloride into chlorine gas and sodium metal a high adhering substrate for plating with lead dioxide to make perchlorate electrodes makes a good, cobalt oxide manganese dioxide bake substrate, but titanium is recommended for a higher surface area Carbon arc furnace, great for calcium carbide, smelting tungsten, melting pretty much any metal Inert stirring rod for stirring molten metal without sticking.
