I took these measurements with a tape measure on my assembled chair. I probably gave you more information than you needed, but I hope I answered your question. I weigh over 300 pounds and I've broken other chairs; this one is working fine. It has shown no weaknesses. The weak point of most chairs, where the wheels attach, is all metal with no apparent weakness. It leans back to a comfortable degree. If you are going to use it on carpet, I would suggest a chair mat to make it roll easily - but that is true for any chair with wheels. The Commodore II is one of the best modern office chairs I have used. I come from the old school when it comes to executive type office chairs. High Back, no pneumatics, etc. But, this chair really changed my mind. It is stong and sturdy with great rollers, excellent pneumatics and good firm feel. It is not fancy with a lot of adjustments, but it is very well designed and executed. Highly Recommended, especially for larger people. Also, the delivery speed was excellent and the customer service was great. The assembly took about 30 minutes with help from another person. I recently purchased this chair after buying a smaller chair from target that wasn't extremely comfortable. This chair is roomier then I expected can handle both me and my girlfriend sitting at in the same time without problems and easily keeps me comfortable for long periods of time. The armrests are well padded as is the rest of the chair. I assembled this chair by myself in about 30 minutes maybe less I wasn't using a stop watch or trying to go extremely fast. If you can get one like I did for around $300 or even a little more it's worth all the money. I don't see having to replace this chair for a long time, the leather is soft and comfortable, and the chrome base and armrest give it a nice modern touch.
