This is an old Royal Scintillator model made by Precision Radiation Instruments - their top-of-the-line for such devices. This thing is about as old as I am (created in the mid 1950's), and was part of the national craze after WWII for uranium hunting to supply the booming atomic bomb industry. Makers of Geiger counters marketed whole prospecting kits, with shovels, compass, hats, and everything you need to go out into the desert and strike it rich.
