Cook Electric Type 500 Fuseless Station Protectors This auction is for a box of two fuseless station protectors made by the Wirecom Division of the Cook Electric Company, 2700 Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. These are New Old Stock (NOS) and are in new condition, ready to use. US Patent # 3,310,712 with UL rating. The photo shows the front, back, and insides of the protector plus the box. They come two to a box. This is all the information from the box and unit, but I can say that these are used at the entrance of a building where phone lines enter. Every phone line must be terminated by such a protector. The box has a rubber grommet at the bottom where the wires enter. There are three terminals, once for each side of the phone line and one for a ground wire. They have a convenient slide-off cover for easy access. Made in the good old USA!
