Fantastic cooker and smoker. The smoker pictured is representative of a heavy duty plate steel bbq smoker that was handcrafted by Tom McCormack, owner of Saucy's Walk-Up Bar.B.Q. in Petersburg, Virginia. You are buying an identically built smoker but not the exact one pictured. Saucy's was chosen as one of the best BBQ spots in the south by Southern Living Magazine in June 2012. This is a replica of the design of the smokers that saucy's uses to cook on every day. This is the first smoker McCormack has offered to the public.Smoker has leaf springs and wheels and a 3500 lb axle to pull around town and such. If you're looking to move the smoker a great distance, we recommend picking it up from us with a trailer and hauling it to it's destination, mostly b/c we are not trailer builders. This smoker has a 20 x 16 smoke box on the back and a removable propane burner beneath a drip shield. We have achieved temperatures of 450 once the grill is good and hot though we recommend this cooker for low and slow. The door is weighted by an IBeam pully system for absolute ease of lift and so the door stays open when needed. The body of the cooker is 5 feet wide by 4 feet deep by 30 inches tall. The cooking space inside is nearly 35 square feet. This cooker is not painted. We paint our own grills for the restaurant with simple 1200 degree spray on black paint that we buy at Lowe's or Home Depot but we do not consider ourselves painters and couldn't stand behind store bought paint.
