Greetings! If you have a 3D printer, you've likely come across - or even purchased - a Diamond Hotend.  The Diamond allows your printer (with added extruder steppers) to extrude multiple colors through a single nozzle.  This is a superior solution to the multiple nozzle solutions that exist.  Like other hotends, insulation is needed to keep filament temperatures where they should be for proper extruding. What is it: Die cut ceramic insulation tape for the Diamond Hotend multi-filament extruder.   Two pieces - a circular piece and a triangular piece.  Why you might want this: When I received my Diamond Hotend, it had a similar, though very sloppily hand-cut insulation tape.  Searching the internet, I couldn't find any satisfactory replacement.  I decided there had to be a better way and here it is.  Also, these insulation pieces wear out after repeated use.  They become brittle and less effective, which leads to filament feeding problems and poor printing.  So, it is generally a good idea to periodically replace them. What you get: two pieces of 1/16 in. thick ceramic insulation tape, covered on one side with Kapton tape.  One of the pieces is shaped like a circle, the other like a triangle.  This ceramic insulation is typically used in kilns - it can take the heat!  The round piece is installed, insulation side-down, on to the brass extruder nozzle.  The triangular piece is installed Kapton-side towards the round piece's Kapton tape.  Then, screw in the filament feed tubes and the heat sinks and you'll be done.  The pictures do a better job of showing how it should all look. What you don't get: The Diamond Hotend.  You have to supply your own.  I show it in the pictures for reference. Do I offer insulation tape for the more traditional, non-Diamond heater blocks?  Check back soon!  I have the prototypes in front of me.
