This is a complete and ready to custom calibrate Eberline E600 Geiger counter with rate meter, scaler, integrated rate/scaler, three channel spectrum analyzer. It comes with an SHP-360 Smart Pancake probe. The smart probes automatically load your pre-defined parameters (voltage, dead time, and absolutely every other imaginable aspect of the probe) from internal memory the moment you plug it in to the meter. Additionally, this package includes a new, tested but unused SmartPAK BNC adaptor, female to female barrel connector, and BNC cable so that all of your BNC probes will connect to it after the programming is done. There is no better system. Just one Geiger counter, the included SHP360 smart probe (like a 44-9, just as a smart probe). MSRP for the meter with this probe and in this configuration is $4800; this is the real deal, this is the one system you need for literally any counting needs you have and analysis of energy/pulse height. This goes way beyond the Rolls Royce of Geiger Counters, this is like a Bugatti. This item has been thoroughly tested and is fully functional in all regards; it meets every quality requirement and specification published by Thermo. This setup can put a whole operation kit in a single case! This is an amazing meter; equivalent to a dozen meters in one. I haven't yet found anything this meter can't do that my 24 other radiometric instruments can do. Via the windows computer interface, you can customize every single function to your whim. Additionally, it has advanced features that are easy to use. With the included SmartPAK, this package is complete as can be. That is used in lieu of expensive smart probes. Up to three configurations for an individual probe can be entered in to the SmartPAK, and it can be programmed whenever desired with the computer interface. That will save literally thousands of dollars on smart probes. There is no need to spend thousands on smart probes; this gives even the dumbest of probes the same capability. My favorite feature is the three channel spectrometer/pulse height analyzer. I use single channel analyzers all the time and dual channel analyzers on occasion for determination of isotope proportions and uranium assay. The third channel is like adding a third dimension. We see in three dimensional reality for a good reason, and once that feature is utilized, even the grumpiest old physics buff will smile. This is identical to my daily driver. I actually enjoy working with it; I compare it to using an iPhone instead of a ten dollar prepaid phone. It just does so much. Location and data memory is super easy to upload and log, making industrial hygiene and safety surveys a matter of pointing and clicking. Integrated GPS mapping is possible; although I have never ventured in to that. The rate and dose alarms are super easy to set. After switching to this platform from analog meters and the ESP for logging with routine surveys, the change was just amazing. Five instruments and twelve probes became two instruments (while this meter is capable, I always have an ion chamber too) and five probes. I haven't ever had to use the backup kit I keep just in case. With a laptop computer, the newest software (it is infinitely better than the old software!) and is readily available from Thermo, this is a system which will blow your mind. The cable and software are sold together, and the software is licensed individually. I will get you in touch with Thermo sales so the software and cable can be licensed and sent to you. It's better to do that ahead of time; because this meter will arrive wiped and require programming and technically calibration (although that isn't particularly necessary like it is for analog meters). It will read "needs calibration" until that is done. It would suck to get the meter and accessories and have to wait weeks for the programming cable and new software to arrive. The cost is under $200 for the software and cable. Again, please ask and I will put you in touch with Thermo sales which has to sell this to you directly. Thermo will do the calibration and checks for you for additional cost; and will program and pair up to three probes. Additional SmartPAKs are available from me or Thermo at $450 a piece (or $300 from me). Please consider this purchase carefully. This is a tested and functional pro-grade system which I have never once seen sold as a package like this. Using this platform requires jumping through a few hoops, and I have enough hoop experience to help you avoid that before it becomes an issue. I can't offer returns unless the merchandise is not as described; although eBay buyer protection. These are not exactly fragile by any means, but insured shipping is mandatory. I have just a few of these left after a devastating burglary, and can't yet afford to work with a platform this advanced. I look forward to that day when I can once again! Enjoy,
