The Extron Extender AAP is a one input, one buffered output line driver for sending VGA-QXGA high resolution video and audio signals up to 250 feet (75 m) through high quality cable, such as the Extron MHR-5 Mini High Resolution Cable. The Extender AAP is designed to install into any Extron product that accepts a double-space AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate. The Extender AAP provides video amplification and peaking to compensate for the voltage losses and high frequency attenuation that normally occur in long cable runs. A three position dipswitch lets the installer select the appropriate signal boost for various cable lengths, providing a more detailed image with greater contrast. The Extender AAP also restores the low level sync voltages - as low as two volts - found on many laptops to normal TTL levels. This sync restoration prepares the signals for long cable runs and offers enhanced compatibility with a wide range of computers, display devices, and cable types. Active audio buffering allows unbalanced PC audio to be converted to balanced line level stereo audio, eliminating noise usually associated with unbalanced audio when distributed over long cable runs. For simple and versatile connections, video output is on five female BNCs on a three-inch (8 cm) pigtail, while audio signals are output on a captive screw connector. The Extender AAP EX features longer pigtails, 20" (56 cm) for Red, Green, and Blue, and 18" (45 cm) for H and V sync, to accommodate mounting requirements in Extron HSA Hideaway Surface Access enclosures. All Extender models include a 100-240VAC external power supply. Features Inputs: Video on female 15-pin HD and audio on 3.5 mm mini stereo jack Outputs: Video on female BNC on 3" (8 cm) or 18" (46 cm) pigtails and audio on captive screw connector 300 MHz (-3 dB) RGB video bandwidth Compatible with VGA-QXGA resolutions Three-position peaking/gain control helps maintain video signal integrity over long cable runs Mounts in products that accept a double-space AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate Restores low level sync to TTL level Active audio buffering converts unbalanced PC audio to balanced line level audio Dual color LED power indicator indicates power or signal presence ID bits terminated on pins 4 and 11 Highly reliable, energy-efficient external universal power supply included, replacement part #70-775-01 — Provides worldwide power compatibility, with high demonstrated reliability and low power consumption for reduced operating costs.
