This is a replacement part for the Hunt Boston Model 17 electric pencil sharpener - See example photo of the sharpener that this part goes to (sharpener NOT included) Please look at the listing photos for size of gear and sharpener model supported The gear is about 1" 3/4 in diameter. After years of aging this gear is known to become brittle and break. This is a replica of the original part but re-made from material that is much more durable. Condition is listed as 'new-other' - this is a new item and has been tested in a working Model 17 to be sure fit and function are good so it may look as if it has been in a pencil sharpener :) The photo for this listing shows the front and back views of a gear. This is for a single gear, not a pack of 2. Item is not the exact one shown in the picture but size/form/material is the same. There may be minor imperfections (small air bubbles) that are not critical to functionality. The back of this is solid rather than have the undercut like the original part. This change was made to improve quality. Note: This item will typically fit snugly as have many of the originals that have been in use. Because the cutter/carrier shaft that the gear fits on is notched, many have inquired about availability of a retaining clip. So far, I have not seen a clip in any of the units I have serviced, but one will be provided so you can use it at your descretion. I have been able to repair my sharpeners with this part and want to make this available to others who are in the same boat. Installation support is available.
