This is a Bison 3 Jaw chuck, 6.25" actual diameter.  Through hole is 1.65", so you can get a 1 5/8" rod through the headstock. This is a quality chuck rated at 4500 RPM, which is double the speed rating of most cheaper chucks.  Most small lathes won't go nearly fast enough to overload this one. If you don't know, Bison makes very fine stuff, way superior to most all the stuff made overseas. This model retails for over $800 at Enco, MSC, etc.  You can search on Bison 7-820-0600 to see that on the net. This is the standard Bison chuck, not the adjustable Set-Tru model. This would be a great upgrade for a small lathe that has a Chinese or other junk chuck. It has a plain back, so you will need to get and install a mounting plate to fit your lathe.  No chuck key is included in this auction.  It takes a 7/16" square key. There is a ball-type oiling port on the front face. Here are the specs from Enco's web site: Nominal Chuck Size: 6" Chuck Type: Self-Centering Adjustable (Yes/No): No Number of Jaws: 3 Diameter (Inch): 6-1/4 Mount: Plain Back Thru Hole Size (Decimal Inch): 1.6500" Body Material: Semi-Steel Jaw Type: Two Piece Hard Reversible Jaws Manufacturer Part Number: 7-820-0600 There is some surface rust and marks, but very little wear.  It appears that the rust and imperfections in the finish were caused more by poor storage than by hard use. The jaws move very smoothly with no tight spots, but the action is very snug. I did not take a wire bush to it, to avoid removing the manufacturer's markings.  It would clean up nice with a wire brush and some hand work, if you want to do so.  The markings are faint, and do not show up in the pictures. Some of the pics show what looks like rust in the scroll threads, but it is old grease and dirt, not rust. The markings on the front face are: Made in Poland 3505 - 6 1/4 n max = 4500 1/min
