Newport MM3000 Motion Controller & UTM50CC1HL Linear Stage For sale- an NRC Newport MM3000 Motion Controller. The controller is equipped with a Newport MM3000-K Keypad, and comes with a Newport UTM50CC1HL Linear Stage. The stage is mounted on top of a Weiser/Robodyne Model 141 Precision Elevation Table, which is manually elevated with the hand crank. When I initially powered up the MM3000 it reported NO STAGE. So I shut it down and found a cable and connected the stage to the Axis 1 output, which is clearly marked as being for the UE404 CC motor, which is fortunately what the stage is driven by. With that connected I was able to drive the stage in both directions to its stop limit, and then hit the HOME button and have it return to the 0.0000 position. Based on that I would say the MM3000 and the stage are both functional. The MM3000-K keypad powers up as you can see but it doesn’t have any motion control buttons on it and none of the Macro buttons appear to have anything stored in them. The entire system is untested beyond what is pictured and described here, and NO warranty is offered. However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed. Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs. Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested. As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk. If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways. If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it. In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item. The elevation table is shown cranked all the way down in the first few pictures. Later pictures that focus on it specifically show it cranked up about an inch or so. I did not try it to see how much farther it would go up. The WORST thing I can say about any of the pieces is that the fan module that fits underneath the MM3000 is not attached, I would guess it was broken loose in the surplus transfer process. The fans still work and the MM3000 sits comfortably on top of the fan assembly. So other than moving it around I don’t consider it to be much of a factor, but not something I could ignore either. This will probably ship in two boxes so that the heavy stage assembly doesn’t beat the MM3000 to death in transit. The shipping calculator is too dumb to allow for more than one box, so it’s hard to say how accurate it will be.
