This is a very rare historical unit - Came from local estate and from what i understand this was one of the first to use short-range infrared electronic distance measuring instrument with a remote control keyboard that allowed surveyors "to rapidly enter data (for atmospheric corrections, horizontal reduction.  Please do the history yourself as this information is from the estate executor. It would make a great addition to any collection.  Sold as=is - untested.
