This is a very rugged bench top machine lathe. Small enough to fit in any shop. Rugged enough for most any job.

This Southbend Lathe is in excellent condition and comes with Chuck, Collets, Tool Post and Stand. My father is retiring after 37 years in business and we are selling his equipment that is all in excellent condition and this piece is no exception. He owned a one man shop and he is the only one who has used this piece of equipment in the last 37 years.

Sheldon Lathe Model number EM-56-P. Type "E" has eight hand-switched speeds from a conventional V-belt drive countershaft. 56" long bed fitted with the "E" Type drive system and mounted on a pedestal stand.

This is the rare short-bed model. The capacity is 12" in diameter by 22" between centers. It has a 4-speed flat-belt drive system that ships on the fly while the machine is running.
