Bidding on this item is to be considered as acceptance of all the terms listed below. SHIPPING - This item is listed for local pickup but may be shipped under the circumstances detailed below in the TERMS. This is a Vega Wood Turning Lathe model 1553 with Duplicator assembly, Spiral Turning package, Router Bracket and Porter-Cable router. The lathe has a 2hp motor with directional reverse and turns lengths up to 53" between centers. The duplicator carriage has approx. a 45" travel length and can make turning duplicates from thin plywood or Plexiglas template patterns. The duplicator simply mounts to the lathe with two mounting bolts so it can be mounted or removed quickly and easily from the lathe. The router mount bracket mounts onto the tool holder spindle of the lathe duplicator with a set screw and can be used to cut flutes or reeds into your turnings. The router mount is also used with the spiral turning package. The spiral turning package is used in conjunction with the router to cut spiral designs into your turnings using a spring loaded gear head driven by a ladder chain and a weight. Also included with this lot are two different sized copy stylus, an 8" diameter face plate, a 12" long tool rest and mounting base for manual turning, the instruction manuals for the lathe, the duplicator, and the spiral cutter, two instructional DVDs, and a Porter-Cable router with metal case. The wheeled dolly that the machine is sitting on in the photos is not part of the lathe and is not included with this auction. Other than a few paint scuffs and normal wear the only damage I can find on this machine is a chip out of the 8" bowl turning face plate near the edge of the mounting hole- that will not effect performance (see the 12th photo). And there are three wires bent and broke at the welds on the wire Guard Mesh Assembly (see the 6th photo). We could not find the cutter tool used with the duplicator so you will need to order a new on of those. Ebay seller tools-plus-outlet has the Vega 62756 Replacement Diamond "V" Cutter Kit New for $139.99. Photos 1-8 show the lathe with the Duplicator attachment in place. Photos 7 & 8 show the Router and Spiral Cutting ladder chain and weight attached. Photo 9 shows the 8" bowl turning face plate attached on the end. And photos 10 & 11 show the lathe without the duplicator and with the Tool Rest and Tool Rest Mount used for manual turning. Photo 12 shows a group of some of the accessories. The lathe is already on a skid but that skid may need shoring up or modifying before shipping. The Duplicator, the Wire Mesh Safety Guard, and the other accessories will have to be boxed up separately. We have a couple of good custom Packers/Shippers in a nearby town that can provide these services. Email me if you would like their contact info. The measurements of the lathe after the accessories and the wire mesh safety guard are removed are approximately 76" long by 20" wide by 44" tall. I would estimate the total shipping weight of the lathe and all the accessories totaled to be approximately 450-500lbs but this is just a guess. Payment is due within three days after the end of the auction. The Lathe must be paid for in full before I will deliver it to the packer/shipper. Once I deliver the lathe to a packer/shipper you will be responsible for making all shipping arrangements and packing/shipping payments to them for their services. Or if you plan to do a local pick-up in Sophia, NC we can arrange a time. Also if you are doing a local pick-up you will need to bring a trailer with a ramp and your own help to load it. I do not have a fork lift and this machine is too heavy to try to lift into a truck without one so it will need to be rolled up onto a ramp trailer. I already have the lathe base on a dolly for rolling but it will have to be removed from the dolly once on the trailer. Also buyer agrees that the seller is not in any way responsible for any injuries or damage should any accident occur during loading. Whether doing local pick-up or having me transport the lathe to a packer/shipper, payment for the lathe is due within three days of the end of auction.
