US $2500

This is a very rare transmitted light microscope from Leitz (later Leica Microsystems).   It is rare in that a nearly complete Nomarski kit is the optical heart of the system.   The s/n 127095 is near the end of the finite microscope run just prior to Leitz going to infinity correction for their transmitted light microscopes and introduction of the "DM" series.   Very few microscopes from Leica today are made in Europe......China, Singapore.    The S being sold will include the lamp #104 (12V100W halogen) and nice USA-made transformer with volt meter.   The FSA tube also includes a pair of Leitz GF Periplan 10xM/18 oculars.   The tube has a triple prism for 100% visual, 90% photo/10% visual or 50/50 photo-visual.   Open 38mm camera port.....select one of many DSLR couplers on the market for this vintage.Check buntgrp dot com for our repurposed DSLR couplers and save hundreds! Three spare 100W halogen bulbs, dust cover, instructions (including alignment of the Wollaston prisms) and the alignment tool for this procedure.   Add Leitz PHACO objectives and phase rings as needed...they are still available and I will send you all of the catalog numbers with a sample price list of that era. The UKL condenser includes the turret and correct red (P) strain-free condenser top lens in swing-out mount.   Aperture diaphragm with in-base field diaphragm for Koehler set up.   Quintuple turn-in ball bearing nosepiece....very smooth.   Rotating polarizer, fixed analyser in slider and sensitive tint plate (first order red gypsum).   Condenser side Wollaston prisms included for  25x and 40x and 100x oil (or may be used with a plan apo 63x oil).     The 10x will need the condenser-side Wollaston Code #553468.   The Leitz NPL Fluotar 100x oil (with iris for darkfield) will need the appropriate objective-side Wollaston code #553467.    Summary, you are all set for DIC with the 25x and 40x lenses.   The 10x and 100x will need the Wollaston prisms noted. Optical set included will be:    Carl Zeiss plan apo 4x scanner with RMS parfocal adapter,  Leitz plan achromat 10x with Wollaston prism RMS, Leitz PL Fluotar 25x (*)  and Leitz NPL Fluotar 40x (*)......plus the Leitz 100x oil NPL Fluotar with iris and parfocalizing adapter.    The iris in this lens facilitates oil darkfield if you should locate a Leitz 160 era oil darkfield condenser cap or complete condenser.  Again, you will recieve a price list showing all of the prices of that era as well as the factory code numbers.   These items are found on ebay pretty frequently.   Not many sellers even know what they are so items costing many hundreds in the day now can be found for pocket change!    The phase rings and wollaston prisms all had the factory 6 digit numbers engraved.  They were actual catalog items and not "repair parts".   All five lenses will be parfocal and optically correct with the negative lenses that are included......this is a finite TL160mm  system. (*) engraved on these Leitz objectives means that they had a common rear image plane that made them the best choice for DIC methods.    This photomicroscope rig is the ideal choice for anyone doing aquatics (including diatoms), microbiology or animal husbandry.    We ship UPS to USA LOWER 48 ONLY....NO EXPORTS.   We need a street address...no PO boxes.   Ask questions before bidding on this rare gem of a microscope.    You will not see one like this in a very long time.   Reasonable opening bid considering the rig sold for over $10K when it was current. One year warranty....free shipping only to USA Lower 48.  We are Leitz experts in MD.
