10+ French Black Copper Marans Hatching Eggs. NPIP Certified Indiana 32-411 My stock is Show Quality and has the ability to produce Show Quality chicks. These eggs are from my closed flock of Davis Black Copper Marans All my roosters and hens are nicely feathered down the shanks and outside toe. I have added this picture to show a couple of eggs that were laid by my hens. The chicks hatched from my flocks eggs will have the genes to possibly produce eggs like this on occasion. ***You will not receive eggs this dark from this auction*** <"> Second picture of my flocks eggs. Taken in natural lighting with a white egg for contrast. I am breeding toward the APA Standard. I am always working to improve color and feathering in my flock, while maintaining egg color. After lots of hard work I am finally hatching chicks that do not grow in a single white feather on their wings, as is common in almost every Black Copper Marans chick I have seen. I have added some pictures to show this. At this time I can not guarantee that you will hatch chicks with soild black feathering but it is possible that you will. These are the only chicks that I will be keeping from my hatches to raise and add to my breeding program. The main egg picture in this auction is of my flocks eggs, the same hens you will receive eggs from. It was taken in natural lighting two months into a new laying cycle. The hens eggs are currently ranging anywhere from 4-7 on the Marans scale, but due to the time of year some are currently on the lighter side. Most eggs being laid at this time of year are from hens that have been laying all spring and summer. I will ship the darkest eggs available at time of shipping. I am currently running 90% fertility in my own incubators (on unshipped eggs). I collect eggs hourly and store in a cool, 55-60 degree, environment. All hatching eggs are placed on an automatic turner until packaged for shipping. Our birds are fed a custom made feed from our local co-op and given free choice oyster shell and grit. We provide extra vitamins daily with fresh water. Our coops are cleaned weekly and nest box bedding is freshened every evening. This keeps our birds healthy and happy and provides us with the best possible garden compost. Our average hatch rate here has been 93% and up. We have also had lots of feedback from buyers that have been having 80% and up hatch rates, with a couple having 100% hatches! Payment is due at auction ending. Hatching eggs are time sensitive and the fresher the better for hatching. The eggs usually ship the day after payment has been received, on occasion they may ship in 1-3 days after cleared payment. This is to insure you receive the freshest eggs possible if the hens have an off day on laying. Disclaimer: As with all shipped eggs, I can not guarantee hatch-ability due to many factors. Including but not limited to, handling during shipping, temperatures during shipping, X-ray or incubator problems or conditions. We recommend you allow the eggs to sit for 12-24 hours, large end up, in an egg carton prior to setting in your incubator. We recommend you use a tested incubator with a calibrated thermometer or two, a calibrated hygrometer and an automatic turner. All eggs are individually wrapped and nested in packing peanuts or newspaper for shipping. I do not mark the outside of the boxes. In the past I have found that the boxes that have been marked have received the roughest treatment. If you would like your box marked please let me know.
