Magnetite - Fe3o4 - Iron Oxide - Magnetic Black Sand 10 OUNCES  of Magnetite I come across a LOT of black sand while looking for gold. There are countless uses for magnetite. You can find it in the magnetic steel that makes up some common household appliances like refrigerators. It's used to help control temperature in airplane windows. It is commonly used as a micronutrient in fertilizer and makes a Great addition to potted plants! It is used as a pigment, as a means of water filtration and charging, in science and art projects, in Zen gardens, in animal and fish tanks, in ash trays, in the construction of MEOW Kettles.. it is even found in the skin and brains of some animals and studies show that it may be used as a means of navigating. This Magnetite is about 95%+ pure by weight and about 98%+ pure by volume.. the remaining percentage is composed mainly of Hematite/Quartz/Granite It has all been classified well below 1/8". This magnetite is hand harvested in the deserts of San Bernardino County, California.
