Works fine, heats rapidly.  We used it to heat specimens contained inside a quartz tube; very clean inside Max Temp. is 1200 °C with built-in K-type thermocouple and 0.055" diameter heating wire. You can control temperature/power using a variac or temperature controller. Compact unit suitable for heating of materials in a controlled atmosphere or vacuum inside a quartz tube. 21" L x 13" H x 14" D Outer Dimensions.Will accept tubes up to 2 in. in diameter. Power cord is included, 3C/12 gauge x 6" long.  Weight 21 kg, 46 lbs. New virgin quartz tubing (2" diameter) is available in 2 and 4-ft lengths, for $30 per foot plus shipping, upon request.
