It was acquired as government surplus and has been fully refurbished, cleaned and tested. Functionally it is in exceptional condition and cosmetically in very Good condition. You will have a hard time finding a later model, 80 gallon, self contained, kettle in better condition and that represents a better value. Description: The Groen AH/1E-80 steam-jacketed kettle has an 80-gallon capacity for cooking large batches of soups, pasta, and other foods. Its self-contained steam source is heated by natural gas and has a temperature range of 150 to 270 degrees Fahrenheit. Because the unit is thermostatically controlled, it turns off when the set temperature has been reached and turns on when the temperature drops below the set level. For quick heat production, the pilot has an electronic ignition. Constructed of durable stainless steel, the Groen AH/1E-80 stationary kettle eases cleaning, while the body is insulated to maintain hot temperatures inside and stay cool to the touch outside. It also has a jacket around the lower two-thirds of the body, which conserves more water than a fully-jacketed unit. To keep steam and product inside, the kettle is equipped with a counterbalanced actuator, so the cover stays in a closed or open position.
