May be used as a spindle-adapter for a wood lathe from LatheCity   Included: Morse Taper #2 (MT2) to 1"-8 TPI (about x1.2" thread length), steel, 3/8-16 drawbar, RH threads, hex collar/shoulder, taper length 1.5", approximate dimensions           LatheCity tip: These are right hand threads, i.e., don't reverse RPM. The spindles are taped at the backend which can be used to fix a drawbar.  It is a bolt or threaded rod which is inserted into the backend of the spindle to secure the spindle.  The taper is cut on a CNC lathe with spindle runout of 0.0006". However, the spindles will have unlikely a runout better than 0.005" which should be sufficient for wood lathes. The spindles won't likely be good enough for metal work.  Drawbar is not included, use a long screw or threaded rod (if required on your lathe). The length of the drawbar depends on your lathe model, they are all different, i.e., it would not make sense to include this.         Safety Notes, Trouble Shooting, and Disclaimer: General safety rules for machine/power tools are in place. For an extended list of safety notes, consult the literature or go to our website. You can download free of charge a safety booklet, which is also typically included (free of charge) for first-time customers. Use protective closing including, most importantly, safety glasses.  The adapter may start to rotate. Do not try to stop the rotating adapter with your hands. Do not reverse the lathe rotation direction or one may unscrew the adapter. Use the drawbar to secure the spindle. The spindle should rotate towards you (on front side of the lathe bed). The chuck should be screwed against the nut. Hold the nut with a wrench and screw the chuck against the nut. The runout (TIR) of the adapter may not be sufficient for using it on a metal lathe.  If the runout on your system is too large then don't use this spindle. RPM maximum are 2800.
