Deluxe DIY 3" Scintillation Detector Kit - This KIT includes most everything you will need to build a powerful 3 inch Gamma Scintillator. Included in the kit is a very high quality Hamamatsu R6233 PMT, Bicron BC412 Plastic Scintillator Block, Coupling grease, Electronics for the Voltage Divider, BNC, End Cap and Housing Material (all the items shown in the first two pictures). Each kit leaves my lab guaranteed to satisfy. Ships with an 8 page fully illustrated instruction guide for building your own fully assembled scintillator detector. You can see in the last 6 pictures a fully assembled detector and a demonstration of its operation with a Ludlum Meter. The fully assembled detector and Ludlum survey meter are not included in this listing, they are shown only to demonstrate what the end product should look and operate like (fully assembled and tested detectors are available in my other listings). Installing the Voltage Divider on the PMT requires some soldering. I have already removed the old PC board, so no desoldering is necessary. Besides some hand tools, a heat gun will be needed to install the housing material. Additional materials you will need are a roll of electrician's tape, PTFE (plumbers) tape or white spray paint, and some spray adhesive and glue. Total construction can usually be completed in just a few hours or less. The R6233 is a 3 inch (76mm) diameter, Head-on type, Bialkali photocathode. These PMT and BC412 scintillator combinations are great for Gamma Scintillation Counting. They are driven easily by voltages starting around 500 volts, and normal operating voltage is 750 to 900 volts (Maximum recommended 1100 volts). PMTs with Custom Voltage Dividers already installed are also available upon request. Check my other listings for available items, or just please ask.
