You are viewing new old stock 3M Jet-Melt brand (now called Scotch-Weld) amber colored hot melt glue sticks. Several boxes were purchased at auction in very deteriorated original boxes. Therefore I do not know exactly what type of sticks these are used for. I researched on-line and they appear to be, or are similar to, the very high performance sticks used for a very wide range of uses, such as woodworking, sealing boxes, building displays, carpet installation, etc etc. They measure 12" long and 7/16" in diameter (or similar to .45"). I did some of my own experiments and this stuff is exceptionally strong. The only way I can demonstrate this to you is through the photos on this page. I glued a 7-pound cobble stone to the wall in less than 10 seconds, making this a great glue for setting stones in place prior to grouting. I glued 2x4 pieces of wood together end grain to end grain and it is able to support its weight and more after a few seconds. It took some effort to break the pieces back down. I also used the glue to fill in cracks in some sub-flooring to make an airtight waterproof seal. The uses are endless. A must have for any Handyman! I'm having loads of fun with this stuff!
