i don't know very much about transfer switches. i believe this is a 400 amp because that is what an electrician told me. i got it for my house but i really only need a 200 amp. this switch seems to work like it should the only thing that looks different is the original safety that only allows the switch to operate with the door closed is missing and one was made from a bolt as seen in the picture. it does only switch with the door closed so i don't think the modification matters to the units value
