Vintage PISTON RINGS LOT Selling this nice lot of FIVE (5) PISTON RINGS. Comes from an old local foundry. BRAND: "QUALITY" Made in U.S.A. by "The Piston Ring Company, Muskegon, Michigan" UNUSED, "NEW OLD STOCK", vintage early 1920s items, in original boxes (one box is more damaged than the other). Size is 6" diameter; 3/8" tall. All identical. There were originally 3 per box. Here you have a box with three, & the other with two. You even have one original paper leaflet in the deal, that was in one box! It is in rough condition, but quite rare to find. Rings are in pretty good condition. They may have some slight stains or slight superficial rust on some areas, as shown in my pictures. Some of the rings I am listing this week were probably used for the "UNIVERSEL" Hit and Miss engine models they were making in this factory, in the mid-1920s. This is quite a large size. They did a couple 9 H.P. hit and miss engines, I would not be surprised those rings were used in them.  I am sure they could fit many brands of hit and miss engines and models. Please check out your mesurements, I don't have any litterature for all old engines specs. I heard that foundry was also doing general mechanics in the early days. Some rings sizes in my other listings were probably good for cars or tractors as well. You can scroll down for more pictures and to see the sizes you get here. I will list other lots this week (msot of them smaller other sizes, ranging from 3" to 5"). (When I measure the ring diameter, it is compressed in my hand, not loose, no gap). ____________________________________________________________________ I found a few items last fall related to "LA FONDERIE DE VICTORIAVILLE" or "Victoriaville Foundry", founded in 1885. Many years ago they demolished the old building. The previous onwer was able to salvage a few things that were left, like printing blocks, plus a few parts like those "New Old Stock" piston rings, a couple magnetos, etc. Check out my other listings for those other parts, I will list some lots in the next days. They entirely built the "UNIVERSEL" hit and miss engine here in Victoriaville, Canada from 1921 to 1925. This engine is scarce, they did not make many. They were offered in 5, 6, 7 & 9 H.P. Thanks for your interest. Here is a old picture showing this particular engine model:   Canadian residents must pay applicable taxes.
